Breaking Barriers with Technology: The Launch of the Haki Yangu AI Chatbot
Tanzania has taken a bold step in combining justice and technology to ensure that every citizen has access to legal support. On this remarkable day, the Legal Services Facility (LSF) officially launched the Haki Yangu AI Chatbot, a first-of-its-kind digital assistant designed to bring legal information closer to the people.

The Haki Yangu Chatbot is more than just a tool — it’s a bridge between citizens and justice. Accessible through mobile phones, the chatbot empowers individuals to ask questions, receive instant guidance, and connect with relevant resources — all from the palm of their hand. By doing so, it breaks down barriers of distance, cost, and complexity that often hinder access to justice.
TechForward Tanzania’s Role
At TechForward Tanzania, we are proud to have been the technology partner behind this groundbreaking innovation. Through our Innovation for Development (I4D) umbrella, our team collaborated closely with LSF to design and develop the Haki Yangu Chatbot.
Our focus was clear: to create a solution that is:
- User-friendly – ensuring that anyone, regardless of technical ability, can use it.
- Multilingual – bridging language barriers so that people can access justice in a language they understand.
- Available 24/7 – because justice should never be limited by office hours.
Leadership and Support

The launch event was honored by the presence of Dr. Nkundwe Moses Mwasaga, Director General of the ICT Commission, who served as the Guest of Honor. His presence highlighted the importance of digital innovation in advancing access to justice and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for social impact.
Why It Matters
This chatbot is not just a technological innovation — it’s a tool for empowerment and inclusion. It ensures that no one is left behind, regardless of where they live or their economic background. By providing accessible, reliable, and timely legal information, the Haki Yangu AI Chatbot has the potential to transform how Tanzanians engage with the justice system.
Looking Ahead
The launch of Haki Yangu represents a milestone in Tanzania’s journey toward a more just and inclusive society. For us at TechForward Tanzania, it’s also a reminder of why we do what we do: to harness the power of technology to solve real problems, empower communities, and drive sustainable development.

This is more than just technology. It’s justice for all, powered by innovation.
