TechForward Tanzania Meets MDH’s Enabling Dreams Team to Strengthen Youth Digital Engagement
TechForward Tanzania had the pleasure of meeting with the Enabling Dreams team from MDH for a collaborative dialogue centered around one powerful goal: enhancing how we reach and engage young people across Tanzania with life-changing information through the MyWangu chatbot platform.

As digital tools continue to reshape how young people access information and services, the need to build innovative, safe, and youth-friendly spaces is more urgent than ever. MyWangu, an AI-powered chatbot accessible via WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, offers adolescents and youth aged 15–24 confidential and accurate support on issues related to HIV prevention, testing, and wellness.
During the meeting, both teams explored creative ways to:
- Scale MyWangu’s reach to underserved youth in urban and rural areas.
- Use storytelling and influencer content to connect with young audiences.
- Integrate insights from MDH’s work with young people into the MyWangu platform.
- Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in every region we serve, especially Dar es Salaam, Tabora, and Kagera.
The discussion was not just about tools—it was about understanding the digital behaviors, language, and environments that shape young people’s decisions and finding ways to meet them where they are.
As a result of the conversation, we are more energized than ever to continue strengthening partnerships that amplify the voices and needs of young people. Our shared vision is clear: a generation of informed, empowered youth who can access health information and services confidently and safely.
We extend our sincere thanks to the MDH team for their openness, energy, and vision. Together, we are not just enabling dreams—we’re building the digital bridges that help youth realize them.
