TechForward Showcases AI Innovation at National Safe Motherhood Initiative Meeting

Today marked a significant milestone for TechForward Tanzania as we were honored to participate in the National Safe Motherhood Initiative (SMI) Technical Working Group, convened by the Ministry of Health. The meeting brought together health leaders, policymakers, and innovators committed to advancing maternal and child health across Tanzania.

Representing TechForward was our Executive Director, Elias Patrick, who presented our cutting-edge, AI-powered digital health innovations. Central to the presentation was Mama Care — our intelligent digital health companion designed to support women throughout their maternal journey, from pregnancy to postnatal care.

Driving Change Through Innovation

During the session, Elias Patrick demonstrated how Mama Care and other AI-driven platforms developed by TechForward are addressing gaps in access to information, real-time health support, and data-driven decision-making. These tools are built to complement Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to reduce maternal and newborn mortality by empowering women with timely, culturally relevant health guidance.

A Promising Partnership with the Ministry of Health

We are proud to share that our work was warmly received by the Ministry. Officials expressed strong interest in collaborating with TechForward to scale these digital solutions nationwide. This recognition underscores the growing role of technology in improving health outcomes and affirms our belief that innovation must be at the center of public health strategies.

What’s Next?

As we move forward, TechForward is committed to deepening our partnership with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders. Together, we aim to amplify the reach and impact of AI in maternal health, ensuring every woman in Tanzania can access the care and information she needs — safely, affordably, and with dignity.
